Therapeutic and Support Services

Crisis Intervention and Counseling for Victims and Survivors

Center for Safety & Change offers a collection of services to assist members of the Rockland County community suffering from the emotional stress of victimization and related trauma associated with domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and other crimes.  These individuals are finding difficulty navigating the various systems required to receive needed help.

24-Hour Hotline

The Center for Safety & Change hotline is answered by a live person 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Our professional staff and trained volunteers provide crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support, community linkages and general information about services offered through the Center.

In-Person Support, Advocacy and Counseling

In addition to our hotline, advocates are available during walk-in hours to provide the same services we offer on our hotline in person. Advocates can also provide accompaniment to DSS, CPS, court, probation, schools and police departments. Our goal is to help clients navigate these systems to best meet their needs. Advocates can also connect clients with more intensive long-term therapeutic support through our support and empowerment groups and counseling programs.

Support Groups

Support and empowerment groups are committed to creating a space for survivors to process emotions, learn about the normal responses to trauma, share their stories, support one another and create a community. Our specially trained counselors will work with clients individually to process trauma and find a path to healing.

If you or a loved one are the victim of domestic violence, abuse, human trafficking or another crime and live in Rockland County, contact us to learn more about our support and counseling services.
